Bread pizza is a kid-friendly quick recipe made using bread slices, pizza sauce, veggies and cheese. Bread slices are used as base topped with veggies and cheese, cooked on tawa. This is a simple recipe made with ingredients you have in the house. You can use any veggies for pizza toppings such as onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, baby corns, black olives, sweet corn, mushrooms or jalapenos.

Stepwise recipe to make bread pizza:

  1. Slice all the veggies. For this recipe, I have added onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, baby corns and black olives. You can add veggies of your choice such as sweet corn, mushrooms or jalapenos.
  2. Heat thick-bottomed tawa/pan on low flame. Once, tawa/pan gets heated up, put bread slice on it. You can use either brown bread or white bread. Don’t add oil or butter on tawa else bread slice will become soft. Dry roast bread slice on both sides till it is slightly toasted.
  3. While still on tawa, quickly spread some pizza sauce on one side of the bread slice. Apply the sauce evenly such that it covers every corner of the bread. If you don’t have pizza sauce, you can use regular ketchup mixed with chili flakes and oregano.
  4. Now quickly add chopped veggies (pizza toppings) on the same side of bread.
  5. Now add grated cheese on the bread topped with veggies. Here, I have used mozzarella cheese but you can use any other pizza cheese.
  6. Cover the pan with lid. Let it cook for 1 – 2 minutes till the cheese melts and the bottom of bread turns slightly brown. Check occasionally so that the bread does not get burnt. 
  7. After cheese gets melted, carefully remove bread slice from the pan. Sprinkle chilly flakes and oregano. Serve hot.

Ingredients
  • 4 – 6 bread slices (brown/white)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 medium-sized onions
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes (deseeded)
  • 2 – 3 bell peppers (red/green/yellow)
  • 4 – 5 baby corn (blanched)
  • 5 – 6 black olives
  • 1/2 cup cheese (grated)
  • salt (as per taste)
